B) French phone numbers

In France, phone numbers are usually grouped in five blocks containing two digits each. For example, a typical phone number would be: 01.45.13.23.85.

The first two digits of the phone number always indicate the "area code". The following area codes are valid:
01 = Paris area
02 = North-West area
03 = North-East area
04 = South-East area
05 = South-West area
Thus, if you see the number 01.23.45.67.89, you know right away that the person you are about to call lives in Paris.
